And clouds really should be white at least, and oceans should meet us at the beach, and I don't want to overreach when I know what's in store... [instrumental and chorus]

And so the stranger, seeking companionship, finds the woman, much like the sirens of ancient times luring him to his certain demise.

Not often a dude ruins your face... skull-stomps your sanity, grabs your future baby mama... and personally sees to four of your five shittiest moments.

I humbly add -- humbly add -- that out beyond the worlds of war and peace, there is a field, and there are many women and men [who] are meeting there.

I've been privileged to see so much of our beautiful Earth and the people and creatures that live on it.

PM: Well, let's take a little closer look at the wife, and this was even before you met Gabby Giffords.

I think they use interactions to assess density, so when they're really crowded, they meet more often, and they search more thoroughly.

And so immediately as you meet people, you shake their hand, and then your eyes go to their shoulder, because you want to see where did they serve, or what unit did they serve with?

And so, many of my early memories involved intricate daydreams where I would walk across borders, forage for berries, and meet all kinds of strange people living unconventional lives on the road.

We have all different experiences from communities and people we meet, and on top of this, we start school, and we add the next problem.

And it also gives Peter a 1 in 285, 000 chance of bumping into any one of these special ladies on a given night out.

So they reject every possible suitor that turns up in the first 37 percent of the mating season, and then they pick the next fish that comes along after that window that's, I don't know, bigger and burlier than all of the fish that they've seen before.

Because a couple years after Brazil was awarded the World Cup, we heard that the Brazilian government wanted to do something meaningful in the opening ceremony in the country that reinvented and perfected soccer until we met the Germans, of course.

The values that the A.I. has need to match ours, not just in the familiar context, like where we can easily check how the A.I. behaves, but also in all novel contexts that the A.I. might encounter in the indefinite future.

And I will keep doing this for the hundreds of tapirs that I've had the pleasure to meet over the years and the many others I know I will encounter in the future.

It turns out, if you want to read the world, if you want to encounter it with an open mind, the world will help you.

By freeing us from the tyranny of the bar line, we can visualize rhythm in terms of time, and a simple turn of the wheel can take us on a musical journey around the world.

Perhaps by the time we encounter intergalactic life forms, we'll be able to communicate with them through a tiny gizmo, or we might have to start compiling that dictionary, after all.

When you meet people who seem like an exception to the rule, oftentimes it's that the rule is broken, not that they're an exception to it.

Every time you see from now on a pregnant lady, she's assembling the biggest amount of information that you will ever encounter.

(Both vocalizing) (Laughter) Now, think how the ability of my son to be coupled to us and other people in his life is going to shape the man he is going to become.

It actually also does this with incredible prudence, detecting and reacting to every tiny threat, and furthermore, remembering every previous threat, in case they are ever encountered again.

I graduated from university to become a theater director, and that progress is entirely to do with the fact that people I'll never meet fought for women to have rights, get the vote, get education, have progress.

And recently, I was in Easter Island, which is an incredibly beautiful place, and an incredibly mysterious place, because no matter where you go in Easter Island, you're struck by these statues, called the moai.

But what I get to see every day is hope, resilience, determination, a love of life and appreciation for being able to rebuild their lives.

Now, in my line of work, I encounter many very charming people on the internet who like to tell me that climate models are all wrong.

What if you could remember every person you ever met, how to pronounce their name, their family details, their favorite sports, the last conversation you had with them?

But the more dangerous demons you face are the fear and negativity inside you that tell you, "You're not good enough.

You may think you know what is going on in that Jane Austen novel -- that is, until your first encounter with postmodern deconstructionism.

And it wasn't until she met a Vietnamese lady who told her this, and then tutored her for two days intensively, that she was able to go into her exam and -- you know, this was a moment of truth.

Now, I didn't really understand that until I met this guy who was then an 80-year-old, slightly shambolic man who lived on tomato soup and thought ironing was very overrated.

There is adversity and challenge in life, and it's all very real and relative to every single person, but the question isn't whether or not you're going to meet adversity, but how you're going to meet it.

But, every so often, we come across children who show some residual vision, and that is a very good sign that the condition might actually be treatable.
